Florida Man with a cool name does a not so cool thing – stabs librarian in the face with scissors
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – 55-year-old Florida Man Burman P. Bedford was arrested on Tuesday, after he walked into a library, went to the children’s section and stabbed an employee in the face with a pair of scissors.
Bedford, of New Smyrna Beach, is facing a felony charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
First responders were dispatched to the Volusia County regional library branch after receiving a 911 call just before noon.
When they arrived, they found a 63-year-old woman with multiple cuts to her arms, face and a severe eye wound.
They also found Bedford at the scene, where he was taken into custody.

Investigators say the Florida Man greeted the woman before attacking her with the scissors.
Security footage from the library showed the attack appeared to be unprovoked, and investigators have yet to determine a motive.
According to Bay News 9, “the woman was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, and she’s expected to survive the attack.”
Volusia County manager George Recktenwald released a statement, saying the victim “was in good spirits given what she has been through. This was such an unbelievably senseless and brutal act. Our immediate concern is for the welfare of our employees — the victim herself as well as our other employees who were understandably shaken up by the incident.’”
Burman P. Bedford was taken into custody and processed at Volusia County Jail.
