Flatulence Fist Fight in Uber ends with driver homeless, passenger a suspended jail sentence

BRISTOL, UK – Uber driver Aleksander Bonchev found himself homeless and fleeing back to his native country of Bulgaria after getting into a flatulence related fistfight with a passenger.

Bonchev was driving passenger James Mallet home from Chasers night club in Bristol when Mallet farted inside of his vehicle.

Bonchev pulled the car over and asked Mallet to leave the vehicle; at which point Mallet hit Bonchev in the head. Bonchev, in self defense, punched Mallet and knocked him down; breaking his own finger in the process.

Mallet and an unidentified female fled the scene, only for Mallet to be arrested by officers a short time later.

Court recorder Alexia Power told Mallet that Bonchev sustained a broken finger, was unable to work, lost his job with Uber, lost his accommodation and his car.

She then handed Mallet a six months jail term, suspended for 18 months, and ordered him to pay £500 compensation and do 120 hours’ unpaid work.

Bonchev spoke during Mallet’s trial, where he said he had to give up work due to his injury and could not pay for his car or rent, ending up homeless.
